Curtis Becker Obituary

BECKER, Curtis G. Curtis G. Becker, 58, of Bloomfield, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family and beloved cats, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, (April 10, 2007). Curt was born in New York, NY on March 22, 1949, son of the late Sandy and Ruth Becker. Curt was employed at the Mount Sinai Campus of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center for over ten years. Curt was a caring person whose great joys in life were his family, reading and his many feline companions whom he rescued. Curt is survived by his sister, Annelle D'Addeo and her husband, Ray of Bloomfield, and his sister, Joyce Sexton and her husband, Larry of Batavia, IL, as well as many friends, co-workers and extended family who loved him dearly and helped sustain him during his illness. Curt's family would like to extend their deepest thanks to the staff of the St. Francis Cancer Center for all their compassionate care and support during this battle with cancer. They would also like to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Francis Hospice Program for making it possible for him to be home, and spend what time he had left with his family and cats. His family will receive friends, Sunday, from 2-4 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Curt's name to Protectors of Animals, Cat Adoption Center, 144 Main St., East Hartford, CT 06118.
