Vaneira Charles Obituary

Vaneira R. (Mourant) Charles, 67, of Greenfield St., Hartford died Sunday (July 28, 2002). Born March 15, 1935 in Guyana, South America, daughter of Adina Agard and the late Eddie Mourant. Besides her mother Vaneira is survived by her three beloved children and their father Cecil Charles, Olanza Charles, Arlene Grant and Edna Charles all of Guyana; her four beloved sisters Maureen Fredericks of Windsor, Norma Francis, Jean Samuels and Joan Worrell of Hartford; five brothers Marshall Sookram of Brooklyn, N.Y. George Benson of Hartford, Leyland Benson, Joseph Mourant and Lloyd Leach of Guyana; her best friend Marina Percival of Brooklyn, N.Y.; her three grandchildren and five great grandchildren, 19 nieces and 11 nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Owen Benson; her sister Loretta Brady; and her grandson Troy Charles all of Guyana. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2, 10:30 a.m., in The Ahern Funeral Home, 180 Farmington Ave, Hartford. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be Friday, 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
