Andrea Mazzoli Obituary

Andrea "Sandy" (Cohun) Mazzoli, 73, of Manchester, was called Home unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Born in Hartford on August 13, 1946, a daughter of the late Victor and Bettena (Fortier) Cohun, she was a resident of the Manchester/Ellington area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1965. Prior to her retirement in 2009, she was employed for 37 years by the State of Connecticut. Sandy loved all wild life with a special love for squirrels. She would sit and watch them running around many times a day, and feed them and the birds daily. When she had a chance to travel, she loved going to her childhood home in Pike, NH and Burlington, VT. She was an avid reader who enjoyed sitting outside for hours reading books by James Patterson. Sandy also looked forward every week to her Friday nights out with Pat and Michelle. Sandy didn't always get along with everyone, but she was one of a kind and if she liked you, you had a trusted friend forever with a heart of gold. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Denise A. Mazzoli of Manchester; a sister, Tina Schick of Venice, FL and Tina's three daughters, Amy, Kimberly, and Stephanie Schick; her sister-in-law, Ann Cohun; her nieces, Tammy Powell, Michelle Mullen and their families; a special dear friend, Diane Luka of Hartford; and her beloved cat Kara. In addition to her parents, Sandy was predeceased by her son, David F. Mazzoli of Ellington, her brother, Victor Cohun of Ellington, and an infant sister, Denise A. Cohun. Due to the current health crisis, all services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandy's name may be made to a local Animal Rescue Foundation or to a favorite charity of the donor's choice. The D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford has been entrusted with the care of the funeral arrangements.
