Dominic Mascolo Obituary

Dominic Mascolo (age 97) formerly of Bloomfield, CT. Passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019. Son of the late Antonio Mascolo and Lucia Andreoli, and brother of the late Mary Brannack and Guido Mascolo. Born and raised in Hartford, Dom settled in Bloomfield in 1952 with his late wife Sarah Lombardo. Dom's career as a self-employed electrical contractor spanned 52 years serving residential and business customers in Hartford and the surrounding area. Dom entered the Navy in 1944 and served as an Electrician's Mate and Petty Officer at the Puget Sound Navy Yard in Washington State and aboard the USS Leedstown during WWII. Dom's working life began as a child where he shined shoes and peddled fruit/vegetables to help support his widowed mother, before entering trade school. Dom loved cooking, music, reading, and his work. He was a great fan of UConn Basketball. Dom was also a former member of the fundraising committee at, and a founding father of the Church of St. Timothy's in West Hartford. Dom is survived by his son Gerry and his wife Cathy of North Carolina, his daughter Cyndy Harrington and her husband Bill of Narragansett, RI, his grandson and his family, and many other family members and friends. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on March 2nd at the Church of Saint Timothy's 1116 North Main St. West Hartford at 11am. Private burial immediately following. To the Mascolo Family - We were neighbors for many years and remember your family fondly. In fact, I recently had mentioned your father in a recent Facebook post as the person that had built the infamous "bird board" in Miss Dunsmoore's second grade class.
