Muriel Thaw Obituary

THAW, Muriel M. "Midge" Muriel M. "Midge" Thaw beloved wife of Dr. Benjamin D. Thaw passed away at home on Easter morning (March 23, 2008) in the presence of her husband and her dedicated caregiver, Krisztina Jarai. Midge was born in Auburn, ME and lived in the West Hartford and Bloomfield area for many years. She was a registered nurse and graduated from the Maine Medical Center Hospital in Portland, ME. She also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh where she took a degree in Nursing Education and Pediatrics. Following graduation, Midge became a clinical supervisor and head of the pediatric building of the former pediatric hospital in Providence RI. In Hartford, she worked for many years as a surgical office nurse. She was a life member of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Francis Hospital and a member of The Universalist Church of West Hartford. She was predeceased by her son, S. Blair Thaw in 2007. Besides her husband, Dr. Benjamin D. Thaw, Midge is survived by her niece, Lori Mitchell Ruberto of St. Cloud, FL. Contributions may be made to The Universalist Church of West Hartford. Molloy funeral home is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral is private at the request of the family.
