Paul Driscoll Obituary

Paul David (Dave) Driscoll, of Jupiter, Florida, passed away in the comfort of his home on January 20, 2021 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his sister, Shelia Davis, of Fairfield, Connecticut. A native of Gardner, Massachusetts, Dave dedicated his early adulthood to service in the United States Army, serving until 1958. Upon discharge, Dave pursued his degree and MBA from the University of Connecticut, after which he taught English and coached basketball at Penney High School in nearby East Hartford, Connecticut. Inspired and motivated by his military experience, Dave sought to further devote himself to his country, and was accepted into the FBI academy as a special agent until 1970. A true embodiment of selfless public service, Dave assumed the role of Director of Public Safety for the University of Connecticut in Storrs, safeguarding students until 1979. Upon leaving UConn, Dave utilized his diverse portfolio in safety and intelligence to establish Northeast Securities, which was later sold to Wells Fargo. Following a rich, fulfilling career devoted to entrepreneurship, Dave retired in sunny Jupiter, Florida, in 1985. An avid tennis player, witty conversationalist, and lover of convertibles, Dave's legacy lives on through the lives of those he loved most. He is survived by his former wife, Elaine Driscoll of Glastonbury, Connecticut; his sister, Patricia Sampson of Burlington, Vermont; his son, Kevin Driscoll and his wife Linda of South Windsor, Connecticut; his daughter, Lisa Driscoll of Glastonbury, Connecticut; his son, James Driscoll and wife Shelby of Ponte Vedra, Florida; his eight beloved grandchildren: Jake, Lauren, Paige, Sarah, Jon, Ava, Jude, Marin; and his lifelong best friend, Harry. Dave's life and legacy will be celebrated in a private ceremony.

Remember mr. Driscoll well from my time at George J Penney HS, 62-65. He was a calming figure to me. Always friendly and social. He was somewhat comical while being a bit quiet. I did run into him quite a few years ago at a local coffee shop. He was still the same old Dave Driscoll !! Anyway a fond memory of PHS . My sympathy to his family . He certainly lived a full and prosperous life.
