Robert Turo Obituary
Robert J. (Rob) Turo II, 53, of Amston passed away January 17, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Beth (Cranford) Turo and devoted father to Matt and Julia. Rob was born in Syracuse, NY, cherished son of Ida Turo of Wethersfield and the late Robert J. Turo. Rob leaves a sister, Heather Condron of Lawrenceville, GA, an uncle, aunts and numerous cousins. He grew up in Wethersfield and graduated from Wethersfield High School. He received a BS Degree from Univ. of Hartford and MS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Inst. Rob was employed by Pratt Whitney as an Engineer in Electronic Engine Control Systems and Software. Rob coached Hebron Soccer and Lacrosse, numerous youth hockey teams and Special Olympics Speed Skating. He loved hiking, biking, camping with his family and two black labs, music, playing guitar and cooking. Rob played hockey with The South Windsor Beer League, Bolton Ice Place Thursday Team and was a fan of the NHL FL Panthers. A true friend and beautiful soul, he will be missed by all. Mass and reception will be held Sunday, Jan 24th at 2 PM, Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church St, Amston, CT 06231. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matt or Julia's College Fund at American Eagle Financial Credit Union, 417 Main St, East Hartford, CT, 06118.

I was shocked to learn of Rob's passing today. My deepest condolences go out to his entire family.
Rob and I played hockey together for several years, first in Bolton, and then more recently at UConn. I will always remember his kind nature; he was a wonderful person, and he will be greatly missed.

To friends and family,
I was shocked to hear the news and hope the stories of the people who knew Mr. Turo let you see how many lives he touched. I worked with him at Pratt and Whitney a couple of years ago and got a chance to know him before we met face to face. During our conversations about work, i found out that he was from Syracuse and I graduated from Syracuse University. We were able to joke a lot about his hometown and he taught me a lot about Controls work. I appreciated that since I didn't have a strong background in it.
I can truly say he was one of the good guys in the world and he will be missed.

My deepest condolences to the entire Turo family. I was saddened to hear of the news about Rob. I have known Rob from High school he was the sweetest person I have ever known in my life. I can still remember Rob working with his mom at Sage-Allens in Wethersfield then he would meet up with us for an evening out. Rob's parents always included his friends to their Christmas eve parties and did he have a wonderful group of friends who loved him. People don't forget these kind of friends they will always live on within our hearts.My sincere condolences to his entire family.

Dear Beth and Family;
Our family is heartbroken with this news.
We have and will always have the fondest memories of Rob coaching the girls in travel soccer.
Please know that many, many folks here in town are thinking and praying for you and your family.

Dearest Beth and Family,
Words aren't adequate to express my deepest condolences to all of you. Beth, you and I share the life experience of having our fathers die young and now your children are going through the same journey. It's painful, but ultimately leads to a deeper spiritual life and the understanding that there is truly life after life. Rob was a great person who was always thinking health and exercise. He was helpful when it came to my vacation plans as he would recommend great seafood places to eat. When I met him I called him Bob, and he quickly corrected me. I enjoyed talking to him on a daily basis at Pratt. He was proud of his family and his work with kids. I will miss Rob, we all will.

To Rob's family, I am deeply sorry for you sudden loss. For those of us who knew him from his high school and college days, he was always a great friend. Funny, smart, hard-working, caring, adventurous, and loyal to his family and friends. Rob had a joy of life that was obvious in how he lived and that will always be how I remember him - his spirit and his smile, his charm and wit, his passion and enthusiasm. We are sorry to say goodbye, but we are glad to have spent many hours together over the years.
