Stanley T. Maciag

Stanley T. Maciag, 80, of Kensington, died on Wednesday, (September 10, 2003) at New Britain General Hospital. He was the beloved husband and best friend for 55 years of Monica "Monte" (Samojla) Maciag. Born in New Britain, son of the late Andrew and Stella (Rozanski) Maciag, he was a New Britain resident before moving to Kensington and was a member of Sacred Heart Church, New Britain. Mr. Maciag was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and retired from the State of CT, where he received several awards including Commissioner's Circle of Merit Award. With his sons, he took pride and pleasure in building and remodeling their homes. Mr. Maciag also enjoyed weekends in Vermont. Besides his wife, he leaves his three sons, Drew Maciag and his wife, Jeanne Kiely, of Rochester, NY, Marc Maciag and his wife, Dianne (Dockler) Maciag, of Marlborough, Neal Maciag, of Kensington; his precious granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Maciag, who was the light of his life. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Mary Samojla; his brother and sisters, Henry Maciag, Florence Sobolewski, all of New Britain, Terry Maciag and Ceil Kurzyn, both of Kensington; several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother, John Maciag and sister, Claire Lysiak. His funeral services will be held Saturday, 8 a.m. from the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 8:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Interment, with Military Honors, will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends are invited to call TODAY from 6-8 p.m. at Burritt Hill.
