Pamela NAUGHTON Obituary

NAUGHTON, Pamela Parsons

Pamela Parsons Naughton, 66, beloved wife of James Naughton (both raised in West Hartford) died April 9 at home. She passed with the same grace with which she waged her 4 year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was surrounded by her husband, their children, Greg and Keira; and her three siblings, Patricia Parsons Poe, Deborah Parsons Slocum and David Parsons. Daughter of the late John and Jean Parsons of West Hartford, she graduated from Hall High in 1964, before studying literature at Middlebury College, VT. She married James in 1967, and their two children were born in New Haven, while Jim was studying at Yale Drama School. After several years in CA, they settled down for good in Weston in 1977. Pamela received a Master's of Social Work from Fordham University and worked at Hallbrook Hospital (Westport) and in the special ed department at Weston Middle School. In 1995 she put her people talents to work as Director of Development for her son's Blue Light Theater Co. in NYC. Her passions included the family "farm" where she spent many weekends and summers throughout her life. She was the undisputed hub of a large and tight-knit extended family. Her greatest pride of recent years, were her grandchildren: Owen (3) and Charlie (10 mos).
The family will be holding a private memorial in Westport. Memorial donations may be made to: PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK; WILDLIFE IN CRISIS (Weston, CT); or HOLE IN THE WALL GANG CAMP (Ashford, CT).

I just wanted you to know that I am so sorry for your loss. Pam seemed like such a lovely woman - she had a very classy look to her...and I am sure she brought much light and life to you and your family. Hello Jimmy, (Conard High Drama/Nettie: Climb Every Mountain)

My heart goes out to you at learning today of the death of
your wife. I did not know her, but if you chose her I am sure she was an exceptional woman.

I remember your kindness/support for me in high school. I was not in the pop crowd and as young then as you were, you
were a man of honor. This too is exceptional.

I was a composer/musician for some years. Teaching too. Waiting in the wings was the painter I am today.

Prayers and blessings Jimmy.
My Best,
Pamela Walton Fuller

Dear Jim,
I just learned about Pam. Needless to say, I was totally devastated. She was the brightest star in your life and you should have had many more years together. If her brother was the same Dave Parsons that we went to school with, my deepest sympathies go out to him and his family as well. You all are in my heart and always will be.

To the Naughton Family:

I am so sorry about Pamela's passing. I felt blessed to be able to get to know her even if only for a short while (6East). I immediately felt a connection with her, she was always so strong and positive. Her family always by her side, she often told me stories of you all while I put her hair in pig tails for fun (I'm not much of a hair person) but she would say “my daughter will get a kick out of this” and she would take self iphone shots as a joke (She also mentioned the pesto sauce!) Mr.Naughton, you were so supportive, she always talked about her family. Anyways, I have thought about her often and after learning of her passing I just wanted to let you know I'm so sorry for her loss and I know you will all miss her dearly. I hope you are able to find comfort in your wonderful memories with her, I know she made an impact on me and I only knew her for a short time.

Dear Jim and Family -
Not sure you will remember me, I used to babysit Greg and Keira when you lived on Mitchell Street in Stamford. A friend of mine sent this to me and I just had to write you to send my condolences. I always admired Pam. At 13, I wished that I could be as beautiful as she. I am remembering you in my prayers. May God bless and keep you.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Pam's death. My sympathy to the Naughton and Parsons families. I grew up one block away from the Parson's family home on Wardwell Road in West Hartford. My parents were good friends with Pam's parents. One fond memory was all of us kids playing Tiddlywinks on the floor and losing some of the pieces.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
