Found this in Superman comic number 146 from July 1961. Seems like this is the same Jack. Sorry I never knew him.

I hope I am not intruding on your privacy, but I would like to know. Is this the same Jack Kirkness I knew circa 1962? We had a mutual interest in comic books back then and we met through the Superman Pen Pal Club. I lived in Wolcott CT back then (now retired in Florida) and we met 2 or 3 times but corresponded by snail mail regularly. My late brother Joe was friends with him also. I inherited Joe´s comic collection and not sure why, but I thought of Jack and looked him up online. This is the only one I found sorry if it´s not the Jack I knew but either way sorry for your loss.
