I am just learning of Judge Gross's death. I have nothing but fond memories of him. I will always have a special place in my heart for him. When I was a young attorney and was experiencing a major career challenge, he was very supportive and understanding. My condolences to his family. Gone but the memories will never die.

He was a very special man. He was a great boss and always a good friend as the years past. I'll miss his funny phone calls and his E-mails. I will always cherish his friendship and the times we worked together.

Howie went to Beach High, and attended University of Miami and Law School with my husband, David Roemer. They also worked together on Miami Beach. We had not seen Howie for years, but had the pleasure of running into him recently. We were at the Red Sox - Marlins baseball game, and it was so enjoyable to see him. Howie was his usual cheerful, humorous self. We extend our deepest sympathies to you upon his passing. May your wonderful, enjoyable and fond memories of him always remain with you.

Sorry to hear of Howie's passing. We served as county and circuit judges and worked as a team which administered fair and even handed justice for several years. After our service ended I always missed his friendship. Even though the years seemed to keep us apart, I, to this day, cherish the memories of our time together. God speed old friend.

Though my words can do little, I must say it is people like Howard that makes me feel like my job isn't just that, a job. Thank you for all the laughs and stories we shared. I'll hold them close to my heart.

I sadly missed my chance to go have a cup of Cuban coffee with you at Versailles but I promise to make some in your honor.

Howard, you and your family are in my prayers.

May you rest in paradise.
