Bertha Gillespie Obituary

GILLESPIE, Bertha Elizabeth, age 94 of Chicago, Illinois (formerly of Cowan, Tennessee), passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018, at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. Bertha was born on Nov. 12, 1923, in Sewanee to the late Arthur and Julia Scott.
Mrs. Gillespie was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nathan Gillespie (originally of Decherd).Bertha is survived by her three children, son, Nathan Eugene Gillespie (Weina) of Winchester, son, Michael Anthony Gillespie (Janel) of Decherd and daughter, Deborah Kay Molina (Oscar) of Chicago, Illinois. Bertha has six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 1st Ave. N.W., Winchester, TN 37398 in charge of local arrangements, 967-2222. Send on-line condolences to www.moorecortner.com
