Rosalind ""Rodie"" Tarwater, 82, went to be with her Lord January 13, 2012.

Rodie was born September 13, 1929 in Knoxville, Tenn. to parents Charles and Ella Bradshaw.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Rodie was an avid athlete in her younger years, excelling in softball and was a champion bowler. She won not only The Dallas Women's City Bowling tournament but the Texas Bowling Tournament winning a spot to compete in the national tournament. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends and cuddling with her beloved dogs Bandit and Coco.

Rodie is survived by her husband Jay Tarwater of the home; son Vic Poe and wife Jennie of Bonham; daughter Pam Robison and husband Mike of Dallas; son William Poe and wife Vicki of Rockwall; son John Poe of Dallas; stepson Doug Tarwater of Bonham, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and sister Stella Gwinn of Dallas.

Rodie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Avis Overton, her brother John L. Bradshaw, two grandchildren and a stepson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Bonham SNAP center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church, Highway 273 at Rec. Rd. in Bonham, with Rev. Ricky Robbins officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Nursing and Rehab for their loving care of Rodie.
