Kenneth Peterson Obituary

Kenneth Irving Peterson, known to friends as "Kip," left to hang out with God, George Harrison, and John Lennon on December 6, 2018. An avid drummer, he's probably banging away with them right now. And it sounds fantastic. Kip started out his journey in Everett, WA, on March 14, 1950. A Seagull, through and through, Kip graduated from Everett High School, and then married his high-school sweetheart, Renee Peterson (Bizeau). After getting married, Kip joined the Army. He and Renee went off to Germany, were Kip began his service to his Country. Kip was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served with honor until he injured his back and returned to the United States. The back injury led Kip to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa, where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic. Kip practiced for 20 years, until he retired in his late 40's. Kip loved spending time with friends and family more than anything. There wasn't a day that went by without some family activity. After retirement, his life became a whirlwind of dinner with his siblings and parents, cards with his cousins, and attending one of the thousands of grand-children's games or recitals. There wasn't a family event that went by where Kip wasn't there, enjoying life. Kip was a friend to everyone (and quite possibly the most punctual man in history-which was great if you needed him to save you a seat). Kip is survived by his children, Kory Peterson and Jennifer Anderson; his mother, Patricia Brust and father, Robert (Bob) Peterson; his sisters, Susie Schmidt, Cheri Peterson, and Janet McDonald. Kip has three grandchildren, Parker, Cooper, and Kendall Anderson, and a son-in-law, Jesse Anderson. Kip is also survived by his three Cousins/partners in crime, Bob Cummins, Cathy Dire, and Jane Brown. Even after their marriages ended, Kip remained close friends with his two wives, Renee Peterson and Alice Jean Peterson. Already warming up the band for him are his grandparents, Ray and Mame Cummins; sister, Verona Bosanko, and step mother, Nancy Peterson. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4505 Broadway, Everett, WA. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, Kip would have wanted you to spend some time with a loved one and do something unexpected for them. If you insist on making a donation, please help the United Way Snohomish County (UWSC.org) so that other families can have a nicer Christmas. I am so sorry to hear of Kip's passing. He was such a fun and active guy. He bought Michael's 57 Chevrolet Belair years ago, and totaled I heard. Luckily he was ok. My picture of a 57 Chev just fell off the shelf onto my desk! Hi Kip! Say hi to my beloved Michael too!

I was Kip's accountant for 30+ years and always looked forward to my annual call to discuss his return. His voice was unique, I can still hear it in my head and will and will always be able to treasure his memory. He was a kind soul and loved his family more than anything. He will be missed, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family at this difficult time. There is no doubt in my mind that he is out there somewhere with a big smile on his face.

Kip was a big part of my favorite years. We went through school together, played together, played sports, and we created a rock band. As the years passed we still got together to play poker with our EHS classmates of "68". He was always a friend first and there was never a dull moment when Kip was around. I have hundreds of stories and they are now memories. Rest in peace.

Oh the shenanigans Kip & my brother Bob got into. Not only were they best friends in school, they followed the same paths from HS to Military to Palmer. I have lots & lots of memories growing up with him around all the time. I am sending my deepest condolences to ALL of this beautiful family.
When you love deeply you grieve deeply. My heart knows & understands. I wish I could be there for his beautiful send off service.

KIP and I were classmates at ICS and at EHS. He was always a positive guy with a ready smile who was fun to be around. One memory: when the Beatles first hit the seen in '62/'63 they wore tight jeans, and that became the fad. KIP really got into it, and he became famous at ICS because his jeans were so tight he had to sew up the bottom couple of inches each day before he came to school. Back then I thought that was pretty cool.

I am so glad I saw him and had a good chat with him at out 50th HS reunion this summer. I will miss KIP.

I remember the many times when my twin brother and I literally fell down laughing when visiting Kippy at the Grand Avenue home. We were all young and had such a great time together. Pat would caution not to run up and down the stairs and Susie would often shake her head.

He would spearhead search missions in the garage often yelling, Watch Out!, when no danger was present. He had such a talent to bring fun and laughter wherever he went.

Sincere condolences to Kip's wonderful family and friends. His loss will be ever-present. Blessings to you all as you celebrate his life and grieve his passing.
