W. Winkle Obituary
Rev. W. Perry Winkle&bb&Rev. W. Perry Winkle received his divine healing on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 and passed from this life to his eternal home after a stay in the Everett General Hospital.&pe& He was born on July 20, 1938 in Colorado Springs, Colorado and grew up in the Bellevue area.&pe&He gave his entire life to the Christian ministry and was a beloved pastor and friend to all who knew him. He was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene in 1964. He served churches in Quincy, Washington; Juliaetta, Idaho; Hermiston, Oregon; Spokane, Washington; Lewiston, Idaho; Connell, Washington;and Marysville, Washington. Pastor Winkle came to Marysville in 1984. Under his ministry, the church relocated and built the present building on 64th.&pe&Perry served in many capacities, including the Washington Pacific Northwest District advisory board and various boards and committees both at the local, district and general level of the Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of the Board of Regents at Northwest Nazarene University. He served in nearly every leadership capacity in the church and was a gracious gentleman in all he did. Perry and Mary Martin Winkle were married in Twin Falls, Idaho. &pe&She survives him at the family home in Marysville. Also left with wonderful memories, and examples are daughter and son-in-law Anita and Keith Field of Nampa, Idaho; daughter Dawnita of Marysville; son and daughter-in-law Perry Jr. and K'Lynn Winkle of Shelton, Washington. He was a much loved Papa to Stephen, Samantha, Sheldon Field, and Kayla and Nathan Winkle. Perry is survived by his father and step-mother, H.M. and Evelyn Winkle of Nampa, Idaho; one brother, Mert of Atlanta, Georgia; sisters, Betty Yuly of Kirkland, Sue Wiedmeier of Boise, Idaho, and Caril Crawford of Nampa, Idaho. &pe&He was preceded in death by his mother, Winona Winkle; and sister, Janet Clark.&pe&Perry was a special man to numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and a large extended family around the world. Our lives are better because of his.&pe&Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at 2:00pm at the Marysville Church of the Nazarene, 8240 64th St. NE, with Dr. Hugh Smith, WA Pacific District Superintendent officiating. &pe&A memorial fund in his name has been established at the Church of the Nazarene.&pe& Cremation under the direction of Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.
