Amy Burris Obituary

Born November 7, 1952 Amy was mercifully released from the pain of her physical body on the evening of August 1, 2018. We mourn her youthful spirit, which still had so much left to offer. Full of vibrant personality until the very end, she was able to visit with many of her loved ones in her final days. May she rest peacefully. Amy expressed her compassion and leadership abilities in her 40+ years as an RN, proudly earning the title of Head Nurse in the ICU. She touched countless lives with her skills and creativity in her profession. Amy was passionate about many things in this life. She was deeply devoted to her daughter, who she raised by herself, and to her beloved husband, whom she enjoyed traveling with. She was an advocate for farming and gardening, and a Master Food Preserver. She had a keen eye for a wild berry patch, always ready to pick enough for a batch of jam. Loved ones enjoyed a variety of handmade delights from Amy, known for her jams, jellies and pickles, as well as baking, quilting, knitting amd sewing. She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Miron, brother Henry and sister Lisa. Survived by husband, Mark Burris, daughter, Amanda (Ryan) Alizarine, mother, Eva Miron, three sisters: Virginia, Christine and Eve, four brothers: Jerome, Stephen, Greg and Nick. It would be impossible to list all of the people Amy influenced throughout her life with her unique wit and colorful humor. People will tell stories about Amy for years to come; famous for her naughty jokes, told with a mischievous sparkle in her eye. Amy's wish was for her loved ones to celebrate her life with a party, with joy in lieu of sadness. The family is taking some time to grieve before planning the festivities, to take place in September.

My dear mother is as missed today as she was on August 1, 2018. Still repairing my broken heart. Hoping she will be reborn into a strong, healthy body to live vibrantly once again. Tears of love for you, Mama.

You were an Angel of healers on Earth and now you are an Angel in heaven.

Amy,was my mentor,my friend and the sister I never had. I met Amy when I was a nursing student and she taught me things that nursing school never did. The practical things, and the spirit of nursing.. We travelled together in the US,Canada, Europe and Mexico- always enjoying the culture and the food of the countries we visited. She was my brides maid and I was hers. Even though we drifted away from each other after our marriages, we remained close and just after a few minutes on the phone, it felt like I just had seen her. She could read my mind, put words in my mouth , make me laugh till I cried, and comfort me when I needed comfort. She was and is and will always be a best friend and a soul sister to me. I am thankful, she no longers suffers from the pains of this world. Looking forward to continued good times together in heaven. Rest in peace my dear dear dear friend
