Jerlyn Greulich Obituary

Jerlyn Lorraine Greulich YORK, SC - Dear world, Jerlyn Lorraine Greulich said "Love you, mean it" to her family as the sun prepared to rise on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017, and then peacefully ran into the arms of the Lord, secure in the knowledge that he would catch her. She is carried in the hearts of the many who loved her, and her memory can be found in the small things in life, like eating Ben and Jerry's before bed, rocking on the porch with a dog, and painting your nails while watching the late show. In her 64 years (that we cannot boil down into a few paragraphs) she taught us many life lessons, including the joys of wearing funky jewelry in your pajamas, the importance of cooking pork to 145 degrees, and that the best way to find garage sales is to drive around...for hours...and hours. Memories of Jerlyn are scattered across the Eastern seaboard in the places she called home, and we'll think of her fondly when we visit that old farm house in Silver Ridge, Maine, her favorite pizza joint in Freehold, New Jersey, or her sitting spot at the side of the lake in her front yard in York, South Carolina. We're going to relive some of our great memories on Thursday from 6PM-8PM at the home of her friends Ricky and Peatsa Meeks, 1610 Sierra Road, York, SC. Come join us! We'll lay her to rest in a graveside service next week at Silver Ridge Cemetery, Silver Ridge, Maine with a gathering at Monarda Calvary Baptist Church to follow. With love, Her husband Sarkis Shahinian, daughter Jerith Bailey (Jason), mother Carlyn Greulich, sisters Jacklyn Greulich (Charles) and Jeanette Greulich (Rob), stepsons Sam (Kristine) and Robert (Cathy), seven grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews, and those who have gone before her, her father Gerald Greulich and brother Jerry Greulich.

I'm saddened to hear of Jeri's passing. When I first met jeri when she began dating my uncle I instantly liked her. You can feel the warmth just standing next to her & when she hugged you it was so caring like getting a piece of chocolate cake. When I first met her I asked her if she had any kids? She told me that she had 1 girl & 3 boys. "3 boys??? Do they get along with my cousins", I asked? "No" she replied. " No, why not"I asked? Jeri giggled & said," NO YOUR 3 COUSINS ARE MY BOYS. I LOVE THEM AS MUCH AS MY DAUGHTER". Jeri was able to crush the step in step son. She loved you & she meant it. I hope my cousins know just how much their mom loved them. I'm sorry to my uncle & my cousins for their loss.
