Kenneth Kokowicz died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the age of 64. He was a classical pianist, entertainer and composer.



Beloved brother, husband, father and friend to many, he is survived by his wife, Frances Kokowicz, of Sarasota, FL.; daughter, Melissa Domson (Michael) of Sarasota, FL.; step-son, Peter McGrath (Amber) of Lilburn, GA; granddaughters, Andrea Domson, Gracie McGrath, and Rebecca McGrath; two sisters, Sandra Sharp and Alexis Garcia of Michigan; and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Elaine Kokowicz, and his beloved son, Kenny Kokowicz.



A requiem mass will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church, 222 South Palm Avenue, Sarasota, Florida.



In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the ALS Association Florida Chapter (3242 Parkside Center Circle, Tampa, FL 33619) or Tidewell Hospice (5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238).

If this is the same Ken Kokowicz who taught piano in Michigan in the 70's, I owe him a deep expression of gratitude. He was a marvelous teacher and mentor who opened my eyes to a world beyond classical music. Thanks to Ken, I've had a long and successful career in the music business.
