Stephen Bortz Obituary
March 27, 1951 - April 22, 2012
Stephen R. Bortz, 61, of Sarasota, formerly of Turbotville, Pa. died April 22, 2012.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Sarasota. Toale Brothers Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter Michelle Burkey of Tallahassee; son Matthew of Nokomis; stepson Michael Andrew Malcolm of Dubai; sisters Cathy Alderson of Shamokin, Pa., Sandra Carson of Carlisle, Pa. and Reva Lutcher of Melton, Pa.; brothers David of Winslow, Ariz. and Jay of Watsontown, Pa.; three grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests, call an old friend and invite them to lunch.
Enjoy those you love.

Mary,
Just found out today about Steve's passing. I worked with him at the Winn-Dixie Distribution Center in Sarasota. He was always a nice person to talk to. I am sorry to hear of his passing and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about Steve's passing. He was a wonderful man. I told Matt the other day that I felt like I had known him all my life the first time I met him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God bless!

DEAR MARY AND FAMILY,
OUR SYMPATHY FOR THE LOSS OF STEVE. HE BROUGHT SUNSHINE INTO MY SHOP WHENEVER HE CAME IN AND BRIGHTENED OUR DAY. WHAT A WONDERFUL PERSON HE WAS. HE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND WE WILL MISS HIM.
