Josie & Family, I wish to express my most heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Jay was the most kind and gentle man and such a wonderful, caring neighbor. He fought his long battle with pain with such grace, dignity & style. We were blessed to have met you both & he will live on forever in your heart. I shall miss him. Be Dunlap, Rockford, Illinois & Sarasota, Florida.

Jay, it was with incredible sadness I learned of your passing. As Airborne, Ranger, and Special Forces Officer I always appreciated what you and your fellow Rangers did for all of us who live because of the efforts of the Greatest Generation. And, Ranger is at the top of the Greatest Generation. I will always remember fondly the many times you and I would coin each other at the Field Club. You were fascinated by my flashy South African Defense Attache Coin but it came nowhere close to your 4 star SOCOM Coin. God Bless you Jay you were always a man among men and someday I hope to stand at your side in the heavens above. COL Dick Cooley

Sad to hear the passing of Ranger Jay Northrup. On behalf of my mother and myself we offer our condolences. My father Robert (Page) Gary 2A met Jay in the parking lot of Home Depot when he sighted the Ranger scroll tag on the front of his car. It was that introduction that led to my father joining the Alva Miller chapter and attending National Reunions. I am grateful to Jay for helping my dad to reconnect with his fellow Rangers. I am a local Sarasota resident and will be honored to attend his service and am here if you need anything.
