Dennis Stephens Obituary

Dennis Craig Stephens
1945-2021
Dennis Craig Stephens crossed over into God hands on April 17, 2021. Dennis was born in Dallas, Texas on January 23, 1945 and spent his childhood growing up in nearby Fort Worth. His family returned to Dallas where he graduated High School at South Oak Cliff. He later attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he became a life-long Red Raider fan. Dennis served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1965-1969. Upon returning to the states, he began a career in sales with Southwestern Bell. During his 16 years at Bell, he also built a successful Amway business. Achieving Emerald status at Amway rendered him a sought after national motivational speaker. Dennis later moved to Houston and operated an office equipment business he established until his career path took a meaningful turn.
During a vacation in Sedona Arizona, he was visited in a dream by Geronimo and the Apache Indians directing him to return to being a medicine man. At Age 50, Dennis began accessing his healing abilities doing hands on healing. He was a Registered Massage Therapist, trained in Neuromuscular Therapy, Cranio-Sacral, Lymphatic Drainage and other advanced therapies. His intuitive healing gifts allowed him to integrate these modalities and he became a go to practitioner for those who chose to avoid surgery and prescription drugs to relieve pain. He soon became known as a TMJ specialist and had a steady stream of clients from local dentists. He never had a case of TMJ he couldn't cure. Dennis maintained his thriving healing practice, Advanced Therapy Center, Inc. in Houston, Texas for 23 years helping his clients regain a pain free life. He served as a reminder that love, laughter and forgiveness brought healing and joy.
Dennis and his wife, Debra Mae were longtime residents of Hilshire Village in Houston where they enjoyed attending community activities and forged rich friendships. In Dennis's leisure time, he became an avid golfer. He loved sports and was an ardent fan of the Houston Texans and the Houston Rockets. He also spent many happy days beside family and friends at the beach on Galveston Island.
Committed to a deeply spiritual path, Dennis and Debra Mae were 30 year members of Unity Church of Christianity in Houston. They returned to Sedona nearly every year, calling the area their "heart place." In 2017, they purchased their home in Sedona and soon after made the move to retire in the red rocks. In Sedona, they were regular attendees at Unity Church of Sedona.
Dennis was pre-deceased by his parents Alfred Elick Stephens and Hazell Mozell Stephens as well as his sister, Rhuenell Brecheen.
Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Debra Mae White Stephens, his sister Kay Van Horn, His son Craig Stephens and his spouse Casey Stephens of Trussville, Alabama, his Daughter, Hollye Walker and her spouse, Bert Walker of Midlothian, Texas, His daughter, Aleasha Bahr and her spouse, Jonathan Bahr of Wheat Ridge, Colorado and his step-daughter, Noelle Howland and her spouse, Andy Wood of San Antonio, Texas.
Dennis is also survived by his five grandchildren, Luke Walker, Cole Stephens, Lena Howland Wood, Vivian Howland Wood and Lucia Bahr.
A Sacred Ceremony will be hosted at the home of dear friend, Mally Paquette, owner of Yoga Awakenings in Sedona for local residents to honor Dennis's life on April 27, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for family and friends at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas on May 1, 2021, at 12:00 pm.

Debra,
I'm so sorry to hear about Dennis. Everyone at Dr. Hinson's office and everyone we referred loved him. He was such a sweet guy and an excellent Neuromuscular therapist. People like him just can't be replaced, he was one of a kind.
Sending Hugs.
