Cecil Weiser Obituary

Cecil J. Weiser
1928-2017
Cecil J. Weiser passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2017. Cecil was born in Houston, Texas on September 29, 1928 to Robert and Edna Weiser. He is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Weiser and Gloria Weiser Ashbaugh and husband, Jeff Ashbaugh; Grandchildren Dillon Ashbaugh and his wife, Paige; Lexi Ashbaugh and her special friend Robby Holland; and great grandson Carson J. Ashbaugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joanne Weiser, and his brother, Robert A. Weiser.
Nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart. Uncle Cecil could make them laugh and loved giving lawnmower rides to all the children. There are numerous dear friends that he considered family, including his Weiser Air Park family and truly cared for all as if they were his own.
Cecil was a lifetime resident of Cypress, Texas and later in life, enjoyed his weekends in Brenham where he had property. He was involved in 4H and FFA during high school and showed dairy cows, hogs, and chickens. His love for agriculture led him to become a dairyman for many, many years. Upon his death, he still had a herd of cattle.
Cecil was also the president of Weiser Air Park for over 50 years where countless pilots (many now captains for major airlines) learned how to fly.
He never met a stranger but what brought him true happiness was helping his friends and family. Cecil was witty, caring, and generous; moreover, he was a man of integrity. He will be missed by many, but will always be remembered.
Visitation from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, November 5 and on Monday, November 6, 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Klein Funeral Home, NW, Wortham Drive. Memorials may be directed to your local animal shelter or to the True Blue Rescue, PO Box 1107, Brenham, Texas 77834.

Remembering Cecil will always be easy for me!
He was a bigger-than-life personality with great sense of humor and a memory like an interesting history book! He knew everyone in Cypress area and miles beyond and remembered names, dates and histories of most of the families as well as most events and changes of note in the area. I was in awe of his memory!

We met when I helped him and his beautiful wife with their Medicare and health insurance needs in late 80s or early 90s. It was a wonderful experience, being treated as a friend and not just another sales agent. He treated everyone like family. It was a bit unsettling, at first, because it was something I wasnt used to, but he and his family were a breath of fresh air!

And what a sense of humor! I remember the time he told me that he and another old codger were backing out at his favorite grocery store,HE and B, and they backed into each other! He thought it was hilarious!

Those memories may fade, but Cecils memory will live on with a smile in the lives of those he called, friend. I will always be glad that I was one of those! And I still pray for his family, whom he loved so much!

Cecil played a very big role in our life, and will never forget our time with him at Weiser Airpark. Teresa and I met at the airpark back in 1998 when I worked as a flight instructor at MVP Aero Academy. Soon after we met, Teresa took a job working for Cecil at the fuel farm, and they became great friends. Some of our best memories are sitting with Cecil just visiting and listening to stories. I don't think I've ever known a nicer guy or harder worker. It was a blessing to have had the honor of knowing Cecil, and we look forward to seeing him again someday.

This man was one of a kind. Saying is was a hard worker is an understatement. We spent many hours at Windsock Aviation talking about everything from animals to politics. Thank you Cecil for allowing me to be a part of Weiser Air Park as it completed one of my life long dreams, to become a pilot and teach others the best way to fly an airplane. 9/27, What a great place is was and is. Rest in peace my friend and look for my dad John. You all will hit it off in a grand way.

Brenda and Glo (and the rest of you family),

As you know, there are no words I can say that will ease your pain. Find happiness in all that you shared and all the time you could enjoy Dad with your family. He was kind, he was true and he was loved. Now he will get to spend eternity with your Mom, the love of his life, and be your forever angel.

Love and hugs to you,
Suzanne
