Samuel Whitt Obituary

Samuel Cramer Whitt Jr., Esq.
1946-2018
Sam Whitt passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2018 in Houston, Texas surrounded by his family. Born in Washington, D.C. on June 23, 1946, Sam was raised in Carolina Beach, North Carolina and Washington, D.C., where he met the love of his life and future wife in grade school. He is best remembered for his witty sense of humor, story-telling, love of reading, passion for the arts, fishing, and sports.

Sam rose to the rank of Captain and received the Certificate of Commendation from the Commanding General. Following his military service, he entered private law practice in North Carolina. Sam spent the latter part of his career in the oil business, traveling around the world and living on four continents. He retired from Technip as Vice President Law.
Sam is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Teresa; his beloved daughters, Jennifer and Jessica; and sisters-in-law Mary Beth Cater and Ann Maddock. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Cramer Whitt Sr. and Linda D'Amico Whitt, and his mischievous Labrador Retriever, Rusty.

I am so sorry to learn of Sam's passing. I worked at Technip and knew him well by his visits sitting in my office while waiting to speak with my boss. He told many stories including sharing his happiness of going on cruise vacations with his wife and a stack of good books. My thoughts and prayers are with Sam's family and know the many years of wonderful memories made with Sam will comfort you in your time of grieving.
