Dick Curran was a counselor and guide in college and in life for 60 years. A kind and gentle soul, he led me into some troublesome places and was unhelpful in getting me out. That made my life more fun and interesting. He was a credit to his family, to his cultural heritage, and a servant to his community. I admired him as no other. I am sure he is resting in peace and handing out lollipops.

Mr. Curran was one of my English teachers at Kinkaid. I remember when one of his parents passed away (father, I think), because I had lost both parents many years before. He was very popular with the students, and we all missed him when he moved to Connecticut. Rest in peace. Mr. Curran.

We were adopted through a church for Christmas 10 years ago or so. He was the most caring and compassionate person to be around. He never stopped coming by or being part of the family. He impacted me and my family a lot. Every time he pulled up he'd do the lollipop trick and we never grew tired of it. He was an amazing man, it's sad to he's of his passing. Anyone who was able to meet him were truly blessed to be around him.

How very sad to learn of Dick's passing. I was the lucky "victim" of two of Dick's many pranks about 10 years ago, as a new hire at the Cockrell organization. I will remember him as an extraordinarily kind, fun-loving, gracious, encouraging, intelligent, wise, and certainly unique man. What a blessing it was to have known him.
