Bennie Curci Obituary
Belford - Bennie J. Curci, 84, of Belford, NJ, passed away suddenly at home on November 11, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Belford for over 40 years. Ben proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ben had a long career as a business owner. He later worked as a Superintendent of Middletown Township Parks and Recreation for over 20 years. He was an elder and active member of the Leonardo Baptist Church.
Ben was a 40 plus year volunteer for the MYAA Soccer Association, a founding member of the Middletown Soccer Club and has served as a member of the executive staff for MOSA Soccer and NJ Youth Soccer associations for numerous years. He spent many years as a head coach, referee and mentor to the coaches, parents and players in NJ.
Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Camille Curci, Jeffrey and Barbara Curci; two sisters, Marie Cicalese, and Harriet Sponyoe; brother, Michael Curci; grandchildren, Robert, Kimberly, Kaitlyn, and Michele Curci, Michael and Nicholas Carpenter. Also surviving are 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Elizabeth Curci.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 5-8 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fair View Cemetery.

Just found about Ben's passing. I go way in Soccer to when he became President of MOSA. Was on the board a few years. Jokingly said he was a benevolent dictator. Dedicated soccer guy. Was a pleasure knowing him.

Mr Curci was such a wonderful coach and friend for so many. He was always supportive, encouraging, and undoubtably devoted to his community and players. He's made such an impact on my life, as I'm sure he has with many others and he will truly be missed. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace Bennie.

I have known and worked withBen for 29 years ...hard to believe that much time has gone by...I am so sad to learn that he has passed. I hope your his family they have peace knowing Bennie was loved by so many...He truly inspired other and gave selflessly to the kids of this town. Rest in Peace Ben. I have known and worked with Ben for more than 20 years. Many of those were years sitting next to him at MOSA meetings, trying to, as he would say, "keep his sugar down". Ben was a friend, mentor, and true legend in the youth soccer community. A man who gave completely of himself to so many young player, while working ceaselessly to build the NJSYSA. There is no replacing Ben, and the world is a little sadder for his passing. I offer my sincerest condolences to his family, and pray for his eternal rest. Goodbye, my friend.
