Charles Fogarty Obituary

CHARLES FRANCES FOGARTY beloved husband and friend to many passed away at Memorial Hospital on August 5, 2004. Born on October 14, 1917 in Akron, Ohio to Theresa Ellen Mong and Joseph F. Fogarty, both deceased, he lived a happy and productive life in Montgomery County, MD. where he worked as a professional engineer and served as Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for the United States Government. Charles was graduated from the University of Akron, President of the Night School, and President of the National Institute of Packaging, Handling and logistic Engineers. He was a dedicated community volunteer and participated in numerous activities and served on the Interagency Coordination Board's Advisory Committee in Rockville, MD. He retired to Houston, Texas in 1988. He is survived by his loving wife, Magalis Gomez Fogarty, of the Memorial community in Houston, Texas. Surviving family members include: his sister Florence Fogarty Moore and her husband John, nieces and nephews: Tom Moore, Kathleen Cole; James, Michael, Dennis and Theresa Cookro; Lynda, Tom, Gary Theobold; Judy and Jean Marie Fogarty; Maureen Liggett, Joanne Collins, Sue Ellen Phillips, Christopher, Patrick, Deidre Taftaf, Elizabeth Ann Zika and beloved cousin Bill Fogarty who shared his passion for family genealogy and family history. He is preceded in death by Ruth and Anthony Cookro, Doris and Andrew Theobold, Fred and Nancy Fogarty; Joseph and Helen Fogarty and his first wife Bettie Rohrer Fogarty. His wife's family includes: Dr. Manuel Gomez and wife Dr. Mirian Gomez; Mr. and Mrs. Freddy Gomez; Mr. Gonzalo Gomez; Mr. and Mrs. Luis Manuel Gomez and Milena Gomez from Caracas, Venezuela. Friends and family will receive guests on Saturday, August 7, 2004 from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Mausoleum. Expressions of sympathy and flowers will be appreciated.
