I went to work for Mr. Crosby 25 years ago at HL&P - Spring Branch S/C. Mr. Crosby set the standard for what a supervisor should be! He lead by example, letting his actions do the talking. Mr. Crosby exhibited high ethics and principles , that are hard to find in todays' work environment. As a helper 25 years ago, I saw Mr. Crosby as a mentor! Later Mr. Crosby and my father were in the same stroke support group. Two men with great work ethics. It was said that you may not have liked the decision made by Mr. Crosby , but you could always count on it being fair. Mr. Crosby's legacy lives in all those lives he touched. Rest in Peace Mr. Crosby

I have great memories of Uncle Jack. He could get quite a load of us nephews & nieces in the back of his pickup. My thoughts are with Aunt Sue, Becky, Scott, & Bruce. I always remember Jack's sharp wit. On occasion, I made the mistake of trying to out do him in a discussion on current events or politics. I finally learned my lesson; in our one-on-ones , he retired undefeated. Jack was a part of America's Greatest Generation, whose efforts & sacrifices were not appreciated by younger generations until recent years. We are losing our WWII Vets at the rate of 1,100 per day. I know Jack enjoyed several reunions with members of his former WWII flight crew over the years & now has joined many of them.

Everyone should have an Uncle Jack; I'm glad I did!!

My memory of Jack Crosby is one of a father. He taught me to ski, drive, catch roosters in trees (at night), to laugh at the fun things and things that were sad to just get through them. He gave me the gift of love and respect for a curfew (remember Peggy?) I had the blessing of knowing the Crosby family and being a part of it for 42years and I would not trade a second of it. He and Mrs. Crosby gave me so much love and happiness in a childhood that was desperatly lacking with it. His death leaves my heart heavy with grief and sadness for myself but especially for Mrs. Crosby and Peggy, Becky, Scott and Bruce and all those who loved him so dearly and are most affected by his passing. He was indeed a truly remarkable man. My heart, love, and prayers are with you all.

As I ponder the many things I learned about Uncle Jack Crosby from attending his funeral, I am so glad that he was a part of my life. I feel blessed. Uncle Jack was a very special person, no doubt about it. Although we didn't get to visit as often as I would have liked, every time we were together, he always gave me a hard time about something...and it was usually something he rememberd from our last visit which I had totally forgotten...I loved his sense of humor and big smile. The special memories I have are when he and Dutch were together. What a pair. I loved to watch them pitch washers and give each other a hard time. I'm certain the banter and their game will continue. My heart and prayers are with the Crosby Family.

Dear Family and Friends,

I am Jack's daughter-in-law (Scott's wife) - although I have always felt more like one of the Crosby kids. I also will miss him terribly as he always had a big hug and a ready smile when he would greet us at the front door of the Crosby homestead - no matter how long it had been since the last time we visited. His cheerfulness and sense of humor always brightened my day. I want you all to know I love him very much and share your sorrow. I went by to visit my mother's grave (Jo Ann Linney) the day Jack passed away and asked her to embrace him and show him around Heaven as soon as he arrived. I'm sure he is as surrounded by love there as he was here. Love and Hugs, June Rae

This is to thank all of you who are taking the time to read and write in Dad's legacy book. Please tell others it is available and I will get Meredith to print Mom out a copy before July 7th. We are so very appreciative of the love and support our family has recieved. Dad was a remarkable man and we will miss him, but he is not suffering and is in a much better place. Let the memories remain in your heart and you will know that he was proud of you and loved you all. Beck

Jack was my wife's grandfather. I knew him for a short time. He always poured out his heart to both of us and our kids everytime we went to visit him. I have always respected him in the highest. I'm so lucky to be part of his family. My heart goes out to his wife and family...I will keep them in my prayers.

Uncle Jack created many of my best & earliest memories; taking care of the farm in Cypress, and being a friend to our Dad (PawPaw). They were brothers by marriage, but friends by choice.

The sorrow I'm feeling today on Bryan's birthday (6-7-80) is quite overwhelmed by the loss of a good & kind uncle. I'm hoping Uncle Jack is with you, Bryan, so you're both with Gramma & PawPaw enjoying good health, laughing, & playing '42'.

With much love to our Crosby Family,

I am heart broken that Jack is gone. I remember Jack was always so sweet to us and joked with us when Becky, Kathleen & I were little girls spending time together. I know that my dad "Dutch", Bill Childress, and Russell Walker welcomed Jack to a good round of washers. We love & miss them all. Our love & prayers go to our wonderful Aunt Sue, Becky, Peggy, Scott & Bruce & their families).

Uncle Jack will be missed by us all. He was kind, and caring; always asking about family members, wanting to know what everyone was doing and how they were. He never said an unkind word about anyone.
