Jay and I became friends through the puppy park that so many others have mentioned when he and his great dog, Maharu made me and my dog, Newman feel like we belonged to the "pack" that had formed at Baronridge. Jay was a great friend. He was always talking about his kids with love and affection in his voice. He introduced me to some of the best jazz and blues music I've ever heard! There is a hole in my heart knowing I will not see him again on this earth. My condolences to his family and my sad thoughts to all of Jay's friends at the dog park.

Doug and I are so sad to hear of Jay's death. We haven't seen him in several years. Before Doug and I left for Washington, D.C., we used to spend many weekend mornings with other puppy park friends and watch our dogs play. Jay was a wonderful man and was loved by many people. We send our deepest sympathies to his family. Doug and Renee' Cooke (Beau, too!)

Brought together by our dogs, we formed friendships over 10 years ago. Jay was a special friend. Always supportive and full of humor. We will miss him dearly and are thankful for all of the years we got to be his friend. Our sincere condolences to his family.

Jay was a dear friend - we met many Sunday mornings at the puppy park where he would bring his sweet Maharu. He had such a love for his dog - and it is a small comfort to know that Jay is sitting on a park bench somewhere - watching Maharu chase a squirrel - together again. I remember how he would grab scruff of Maharu's fur and give it an affectionate squeeze - as we talked about the latest game or some wonderful recipe... he was a gentle, kind man. Jay will be missed by all of us. I am so very sorry for your loss, for it is our loss as well. God rest his soul.
