Janet,Johnny and Family
Please accept my sympathies at the loss of John. I was just informed - news travels slowly here on the island. I enjoyed working for John more than any employer in my career. He was thoughtful and considerate , and genuinely interested in his people. During the time I spent at AOI in the mid 70's the people worked for the man and not the company. I still think about you and John on 12/21 and remember the celebrations we shared. I imagine John has his pads and cleats back on , pigskin in hand.
With Personal Regards,
John Thorson

Dear Johnny, Kathy & Atwood Family,

It brought tears hearing about your Dad. What an unbelievable man. He was so supportive. He would pat me on the back even after you left for college, Johnny. He would even send me notes of encouragement when we were about to face a big team, like Conroe. I am so fortunate to have known him. What a legacy he built, in his industry and look at that family tree. Since I heard, I have talked to several of my tenants in the oil business out here at Sugar Land Airport that knew your Dad and they spoke so highly of him. My thoughts are with you and your Mom, especially.

Warmest regards, Hawk Eye

Dear Janet & Family

Our thoughts are with you at this very sad time. John will be missed by all those who were fortunate to know him and call him a friend. Both Carol-anne and myself will always have fond memories of you and John, also his uncanny knack of tracking us down when we were at Horse Shows throughout the U.K.

Words will never be able to express the impression that Mr. Atwood left upon me. His zest for life, his caring for others, and his sense of humor (Hey Klein! Catch!) are among just a few of the life lessons that I learned from him. I know that I am not alone in saying how much he will be missed.

May God bless you, John. Thank you for being a part of my life.

Dear Janet, Johnny & Beth, and the whole family,

It has been with the greatest sadness that I learned today, from Beth, of this very sad news. So many wonderful moments, alas so long ago, during 1964-71, when our lives intertwined!!! What fabulous memories of Big John's open home and warm welcomes. I am deeply grateful for the friendship John extended to our family.

We wish John eternal peace.

With deep affection.
