Richard Ledbetter Obituary

Ledbetter
Richard Ledbetter, born July 12, 1929 in N. Choctaw, Oklahoma passed away at his home in Iowa Colony, Tx. on May 1, 2011. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Hazel (Mears) Ledbetter. He is survived by his son Jimmy Ledbetter and his wife Brenda. Richard is also survived by two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Richard is a veteran of the Korean War where he proudly served as an Army Medic. After leaving the Army with the rank of Staff Sergeant he came to Houston for work and ultimately retired as a supervisor from Bell Bottom Foundation. Richard served for over 3 decades as a Councilman on the city council of Iowa Colony, Texas where he recently had to step down due to health problems.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the SouthPark Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:30 p.m. in The Chapel of SouthParl Funeral Home in Pearland, TX with burial to follow at SouthPark Cemetery.
