Susan Dayton Obituary

SUSAN JENKINS DAYTON
1955-2015
Susan Jenkins Dayton, known by all as Susie, passed away at age 60 on Friday, December 11, 2015. Susie was born in Plainfield, NJ and moved to Houston at age 5 and attended Spring Branch schools. She graduated from Westchester High School in 1973 and then attended the University of Texas in Austin. After graduating in 1977 with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, she taught 4th grade at Bunker Hill Elementary where she was honored as Teacher of the Year. Susie spent the last years of her life in Bandera, TX where she loved living in the Hill Country. She was an excellent cook, she enjoyed gardening, and she loved all her animals including a deer family that she fed. She worked at Four Paws Bed and Biscuit, taking care of pets while their families were away.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Jenkins, her brother Steven Jenkins, and her sister Gwen King Giles. She is survived by her loving husband Randy Dayton, her mother Phyllis Jenkins Green, her brother David Jenkins and his wife Elizabeth, and a host of other relatives and close friends, including her four-footed friends, Lexie, Twinkie, Dash, and Missy. A celebration of her life for close friends and family will be held in Bandera after the New Year. If desired, donations may be made to animal shelters.

Susie was my first "real" girlfriend, we dated for two years in High School and she was the only girlfriend I ever stayed actual friends with; why? Because she was a wonderful, honest and caring person that was a joy to be with. It saddens me to have learned of her death because she was so full of life.
