Alan Shelhamer
1951-2017
Alan Shelhamer was born September 21, 1951 in Terrell, Texas and passed away January 27, 2017 in Houston. He was an alumni of University of Southwestern Louisiana, Louisiana State University and Houston Community College of Culinary Arts. Alan worked in the oil and gas industry for many years. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and bird watching. Alan was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Houston Astros and University of Houston Cougars football. He was a huge supporter of our Armed Forces. Alan is predeased by his father LeRoy C. Shelhamer. Alan is survived by his mother, Janelle of Amarillo, Texas; wife of 41 years, Judie of Sugar Land; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jaime of Redmond, WA.; brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Amy and their children Will and Sara of Amarillo, Texas. Alan also leaves behind many beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Briarwood School or The Gary Sinise Foundation via their respective websites. A celebration of Alan's life will be held at a later date.
