Robert Madonia Obituary

ROBERT JOSEPH MADONIA, 67, passed away May 28, 2008 in Houston, Texas. He was born June 29, 1940 in New York City, New York to parents, Joseph and Roselyn Madonia. Robert was a Registered Professional Engineer, employed by CB&I as Vice-President Operations Houston Execution Center at the Briarpark office, Houston, Texas. He had a rewarding, successful and thoroughly enjoyable career for 44 years in the EPC Industry. Previous companies he was employed by were Foster Wheeler, Litwin, Crawford & Russell, JBEK, Kvaerner, Chemetics, Raytheon, Techint, Jacobs, and ABB/Lummus. Robert will forever be in our hearts as a dearly beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who shall be sorely missed by his family and everyone whose life he touched. He is survived by his wife of 25 and a half years, Mary Madonia, and four children, Kellee Lynn Madonia, Christina Lynn Madonia Carter, Warren Douglas Madonia, and Rhonda Sue Madonia Schafer; one grandchild, Lucas Melvin Schafer. Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday, June 1, 2008 in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home followed by a rosary/ vigil service beginning at 6:00 P.M. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 2, 2008 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas, where friends and family may visit one hour prior to the mass. Rev. Vincent Nguyen of Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, The Woodlands, Texas will officiate. Following the mass there will be a "Dove Release" ceremony outside at the church. The rite of committal will take place at Lakeside Chapel at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2008 led by Rev. Michael P. Mernagh of the Anamchara Catholic Community of Louisville, Kentucky with entombment following in the Hillside Mausoleum at Cave Hill Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be directed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in the name of Robert J. Madonia. To the family our sympathy for a wonderful man and friend. Bob touched the lives of so many others and gave us the gift of many happy memories. It was a great honor to have worked with such a respectful man. We will forever remember his generosity, kindness and compassion which he gave to us. He will be greatly missed.
