LINDA LIPTON-NORTH Obituary

LINDA SUE LIPTON-NORTH, passed away on January 7, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 30, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, to Dorothy and Jack Lipton. Linda graduated from Buffalo State with a degree in Arts Education. She loved to travel and sail, but her true passion was her work as an artist. She especially enjoyed spending time with her husband in their vacation home in Galveston. She is survived by her loving husband of 14 years, Robert B. North; cherished step-children, Robert V. North and wife Veronica, Samantha R. North; beloved grandchildren, Victoria North and Avery Robinson; brother, Richard Lipton and wife Judith Norback; uncle, Alan Altschul and Karen Kingsley; nieces and nephew, Andrea Lipton, Jennifer Lipton-O'Connor, Robert Norback; life-long friend, Paula Friend. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on Sunday evening, January 10, 2010, at 7 PM at the Taggart Residence, (832) 754-3777. The collaboration of Dr. Brian Loggie of Creighton University Medical and Dr. Lawrence Foote of Texas Oncology extended her life for six years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Was deeply sadden to hear the passing of Linda. We were friends when Linda resided in NY. Her kindness, compassion, humor and love for art will never be forgotten. Linda helped me through a difficult time in my life. She was an amazing woman and well loved.

Robert, my prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Linda was the very best and my life was enriched by having known her, even if only for a short while. I loved her dearly and always will.
