Dear Melissa and Family,

Chuck was always kind to me as a child and I'll never forget that. My mother Dorothy and I enjoyed spending time with your family back when Melissa first married Chuck. We definitely had some adventures. I've thought of Chuck and your family many times over the years. What a long and wonderful life Chuck had. My sincerest condolences on the loss of your husband and father.

A great man, a great life, a great legacy...deeply loved by so many. For whatever time we may have upon this earth, may we all be found worthy of the great love and many blessings given to us by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to live that life in fullness. You will be greatly missed. Thanks for the great memories that live on of the time shared with you and my "other family."

Please accept my condolences. It is truly good to reflect on how Chuck had such an appreciation and zest for life as it helps all of us to value the precious and divine gift for which we've been blessed (Ps. 36:9). Each day counts (Ps. 90:12) and may the God of all comfort be with the family during this difficult time.

When I was in high school, I drove a delivery truck for a local auto parts store. One day I was making a delivery at Chuck Davis Chevrolet on OST. A salesman came into the parts department and told me my truck had backed into a new car. I started out the door to see the damage when Mr. Davis took me by the arm and said not to worry about it, that was what insurance was for. That was in 1965, and was my only contact with Mr. Davis, but I will never forget him.
