I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My condolences go out to Lee, Fred and Lizz. I came to know Bill some thirty years ago. He was a giant of a man in so many ways. The world needs more like Bill Hartman. He believed in redemption.

Heartfelt condolences to the Hartman family on the passing of Bill. He was a true newspaperman who firmly believed that opinions should be reserved for the editorial page. I first got to know him during my time as a sportswriter at the Beaumont Enterprise & Journal. Later we got reacquainted when I served as Director of Communications for the Houston Golf Association and Secretary/Treasurer of the Texas Golf Association. Bill never waivered in his journalistic beliefs and recalling one-liners from his dry sense of humor made me smile often. Rest in peace.
