Diane Sedlacek Obituary
Diane M. Sedlacek, age 71, a Manitowoc resident, entered eternal life on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the family residence with her family by her side.
Diane was born on April 28, 1946 in Manitowoc. She was the daughter of the late John and Esther Schrimpf Gerl. Diane was employed at Holiday House for 20 years retiring in 2015. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the Prayer Shawl Group, and the Women Spirituality Group.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Mark; three children: Abigail Sedlacek, Pittsburg, PA; Jonathon Sedlacek, Bedford, MA; Leah (Matthew) Goodness, Washburn; three grandchildren: Paul, Owen, and Noah; one sister: Marlene Strathmann, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. The family requests no memorials be given. Online condolences to the family may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Diane was a wonderful person who was always willing to help. We started working at Holiday House almost at the same time and shared many job coaching ideas. She was a good friend and will be greatly missed.

It's so sad - my deepest sympathies to the family. Diane and I haven't seen each other for a while, but in the old days we had so many happy memories. We went to Europe together with two other Dear Friends. She was one of my Bridesmaids, and on. She was a wonderful Friend and will never be forgotten. God bless you, Diane. I was so sorry to read of Diane's passing. I work for a county agency and our paths crossed a lot when Diane worked at Holiday House. She was a kind and gentle soul working and advocating to make a difference in the lives of those with disabilities. She had a warm smile and a great laugh. I enjoyed working with her. My sympathies to all those she leaves behind. She left this world too soon but made every effort to make it a better place before she left us. Rest in peace, Diane.

Diane will be missed by many. Lots of good memories when she worked at Holiday House. She helped me out many times with knitting and other crafts. I always enjoyed when she shared her new ornaments for Xmas every year. I was very fortunate and amazed when she was able to finish an afghan that my mother had started before she had passed away. It means a lot to me. Thank you again Diane. Many prayers to the family.
