Roy Lacey Sr. Obituary

Roy J. Lacey, Sr.
POCATELLO - Roy J. Lacey, Sr., 86, longtime resident of Pocatello, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Portneuf Medical Center.
He was born October 16, 1925, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the third child of Lee Wesley and Jewel Lacey. He attended schools in Little Rock, joining the Navy during World War II and serving in the South Pacific as an electrician.
After his discharge from the service, Roy moved to Pocatello where he met and married Esperenza (Espie) Hernandez on February 14, 1947. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Roy worked for Union Pacific Railroad from 1946 to 1989 as a brakeman/conductor and was a lifetime member of the UTU and UP Old Timers. After his retirement, Roy's work ethic would not let him be idle, so he began a new career of developing properties.
Roy is survived by his wife Esperenza (Espie), children Roy (Renee), Jerry (Harriet), Kathleen, Darris (Dawn) and Mathew as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The celebration of his life will be held at Colonial Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012, and the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday July 8, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello, Idaho. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.Colonial-FuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Holy Spirit School, Pocatello, the Veterans Long Term Facility, Pocatello, or a charity of your choice.
