Meridian, Idaho - John Ugarriza passed away on May 9, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Ugarriza. He is survived by his two daughters, Petra (Orrin) Tallman and Shelby (Craig "Pete" Peterson) Ugarriza; his grandsons, Zachary Ugarriza and Kyle Peterson; his granddaughter, Teagan Tallman; great-granddaughter, Emilia Ugarriza; sister, Mary Parker; sister, Dolores Dillehay; brother, Tom (Neoma) Obstarczyk; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved very much.
John was born in Nampa, Idaho on May 25, 1938. He met and married Donna in 1959 and was devoted to her until her death in 2015. He had a long career in teaching, including some years in school administration, until he retired in 2004 after 40 years. He had an uncanny ability to remember his "kids" over the years and could tell stories of his time teaching them, even decades later.
He was, and will always be, very loved and very missed.
A private memorial will be held for family and close friends.

He was an amazing person and teacher. The impact he had on each one of his students individually was a rare. He will always be remembered and truly missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
