Anthony "Tony" John Fagiano
1932 ~ 2014
Anthony "Tony" John Fagiano passed away November 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born June 18, 1932 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tony honorably served in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served as a Military Secretary to the General in Command of European Operations. Tony's military assignments provided him with the opportunity to serve Easter Sunday mass for Pope Pius XII at St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City, Italy.
After fulfilling his military service, Tony was honorably discharged in 1955. Tony worked as an Insurance Examiner while attending Regis College in Denver, Colorado where Tony received his Bachelor's Degree.
Tony met the love of his life, Concetta, in 1957. Married on January 23, 1960, they were blessed with four children, Therese Kissel (Michael); Elizabeth Binfet (Jeremy); James Fagiano; and Anthony Fagiano (Sunshine).
Tony's successful career as an actuary led to Director of Insurance for the State of Idaho appointed by Governor Cecil D. Andrus from 1987 until 1991. Tony then worked as an independent examiner until his retirement in 2006.
Tony is survived by his wife and children; his sister, Geraldine O'Leary of Denver; and his loving grandchildren: Mitchell (Megan) and Brady Kissel; Jacob and Joseph Binfet; and Brenlee, Nicolette, and Sophia Fagiano; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel, Meridian. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Friday, December 5, 2014 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Boise, with full military burial to follow at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley and St. Alphonsus Hospital, especially Dr. Ryan Williams and the 8th Floor nurses.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in his name to Northwest Parkinson's Foundation via their website nwpf.org or to the Idaho Humane Society.

Each of us move through this journey of life full of challenges and triumphs, yet few us are blessed to have belonged to such a wonderful extended family. My uncle Tony was truly a remarkable man, who loved his family beyond words. His sense of humor brought us many smiles and his compassion and generosity was what made him who he was, an amazing man who we all truly loved and miss. With your passing from this world we now face a void, but I know your spirit will continue to watch over us until our journey ends and we reunite on the glorious other side. Thank you Tony for enriching each of our lives. May you rest in peace.

Dear Fagiano Family,

I was sad to hear of Tony's passing. I worked with Tony when he was Director of the Dept. of Insurance and appreciate the start he gave me in my career. Tony was a fair, tough, and respected leader and I enjoyed learning from him and have some great memories. I'm sorry for your loss. With sympathy, John Holt

A lot of my favorite memories from childhood are the numerous visits Tony and Ann made to Albuquerque, and his Saturday calls to my Grandma and Grandpa Alarid.
You are all in my thoughts and prayers...

Ann and family, I have thought of you often. Especially the many friday nights Steve and I had dinner which was always home made pizza and alliole, then we played cards. I will remember the laughter and always have a place in my heart for this family.

Though I never met you personally, I greatly admire your legacy. The only lasting thing we leave here on earth are our children, and yours are a fantastic testament to your character and example to all. May your reward in Heaven be peace. Tom and Carol Fry, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho.

When I heard the news about my Uncle Tony, I immediately thought he is with my dad, his brother. When I was younger I remember when Uncle Tony would call my dad. I remember the love I heard in my dads voice while he was talking to his brother. True brotherly love!!! They are now together again. Rest in peace Uncle Tony.
With love to my family,
Andrea
