Walter E. Best

Walter E. Best, 86, Indianapolis, passed away September 8, 2003. He was born on April 27, 1917 in Seattle, WA to Frank E. and Emilia Best. He was Chairman of the Board and President of Best Lock Corporation and Co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Heritage Christian Schools. Walter was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He was an avid pilot and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. There will be a memorial service at First Church of the Nazarene Friday, September 12, at 7 p.m., 9401 E. 25th Street, Indianapolis. Survivors include his wife, Dona J. (Keller) Best; sons Robert, Richard, Marshall and Russell Best; brother Kenneth Best; and eight grandchildren. A brother Donald Best, preceded Walter in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Christian Schools, co Catch the Vision Building Fund, 6401 E. 75th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
