Robert Gordon Graham
74, Carmel, IN lost his courageous four month battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on July 20, 2014. He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 50 years, Patricia Greaney Graham, and cherished sons: Michael Thomas Graham, Indianapolis, and Scott Patrick Graham, Ellicott City, MD, his wife Nancy, and their sons Jackson and Mason. He was preceded in death by his beloved son David Gordon Graham, who is survived by his wife Paige Prescott Graham, Sewanee, TN and their children Caroline, Robert Gordon Graham lll, and Mary Grace. Also, survived by sister in law Joan Eckert, Westfield, IN and her daughter Judith Wasik, Carmel, IN along with her children Tiernan and Zak, brother in law Tom Greaney (Lette) Douglaston, NY. Along with many treasured nieces and nephew from St. Louis, MO including Michael (Cathy) Graham, Monica (Bob) Fanning, Ann Marie (Steve) Quan, Eileen Hankin and Kathleen (Seamus) Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Johnstone Graham and Daniel Gordon Graham and his brother Francis Graham a University City, MO police officer killed in the line of duty February, 1976 and his wife Ann McGeary Graham.
Bob was born in the 'auld grey toun' of Dunfermline, Scotland on March 4, 1940. The family immigrated to the United States in 1946 and settled in New York. Bob graduated from Bryant High School and City College of New York. He proudly served in the Army National Guard of New York "Fighting 69th". Bob and Pat and their family lived in Woodside, NY and Glen Rock, NJ, before settling in Carmel, IN in 1977. Bob retired from Shorewood Packaging in 2004 and loved volunteering at Brookshire Golf Club.
When asked what was most important in life Bob would always answer "family," and his family certainly knew it. Bob was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a soccer coach for many years both in Glen Rock, NJ and Carmel eventually becoming President of the Carmel Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). He passed on his love of the game to his sons and grandsons. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish and a great supporter of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, Wounded Warriors, Knights of Columbus and the Tea Party movement. He was a proud American!
The viewing is scheduled at Flanner and Buchanan - Car mel , 325 E. Carmel Dr., Carmel, IN 46032, for Thursday, July 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road on Friday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, 9001 Haverstick Road, Indianapolis.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Graham Memorial Fund at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Carmel, IN.

Bob was a great man and a long time acquaintance. He will be missed from our neighborhood. I have many fond memories of conversations with him and his beloved dog Murphy. He was always jovial and gregarious. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this time.
