Cathy and boys:
I just learned of Dicks passing this evening and wanted to send you my regards. We worked together for 16 years while I was VP Sales for Tool Products. Dick became a friend and more than just principle and representative. I will keep his memory and you in my thoughts forever.
Sincerely,
Jay Eller

Dick was a good friend of mine, and has been for several years. He was a good man. I learned a lot from him and am so sad he is gone. We had lots of good times over the years: Pacer games, Subway tuna sub lunches, Friday nite fights....He and Cathy traveled with me on business all over the world; Japan, India, Thailand, Singapore, and others. All good times, for sure. I spoke with him last month on Veterans Day. So glad I did. All of us who knew Dick loved him, will miss him, but never forget him. All are there for Cathy now, too, I’m sure. Prayers for her and the family, Dave Stone (or “Stoney” as Dick always called me!)

I was saddened to hear about Dick's passing. I always enjoyed being around Dick and remember playing against him at the Meridian Hills Country Club tournaments. He will truly be missed.

Dick and I go back 45 to 50 years. Friday afternoons at the Athletic Club playing basketball and many hours on the clay courts at Meridian Hills getting my butt kicked. I have never experienced such an unorthodox athlete. When I first saw him play basketball I was amazed at how accurate his two handed behind the head shot was. James Naismith would have been proud. His tennis was just as unusual with switching of hands thus no backhand which made it difficult and frustrating playing him. I don't think he had very many losses. What a great athlete, human being and friend. I will miss him. I have the greatest admiration and respect for his caregiver and lovely wife Cathy. She took great care of him. What a wonderful woman.

I met Dick in 1976 at a sales meeting at Security Plastics in Miami Lakes, Florida. I was a new sales rep. just getting started in Ohio. Dick immediately offered his assistance to help me be successful. I accepted his help which continued my whole career. It has been several years since I last spoke to Dick but I never forgot what a great guy he was and how he helped so many people like me.

I have been honored to be a friend of Dick's for many years. He has always been my idol since playing basketball with him 40 years ago. Though older than me he was always in much better physical condition. He has always been a great friend and greatly appreciate our time together. He has been a kind, compassionate leader in our community and will be greatly missed by many friends.
Our sincere condolences and prayers go out to Cathy and their family.

Very sad news. My heart goes out to the Broderick family. Dick was always good to me. Always had a smile, a kind, and thoughtful word. Humor came easily to him. He cared about me like a son and a friend, and he inspired me by his actions - except for consuming a quart of chocolate chip ice cream before bed.

We have known Dick for many years and always treasured his friendship. With his quick wit and humor there was never a dull moment when Dick was in the room!
Back in the day, I learned quickly when playing tennis with Dick not to try to hit to his back hand as he did not have one! He was ambidextrous! Always admired his fair and competitive spirit. He was definitely one of a kind and will be missed by so many.

Dick may be gone from us but he will never be forgotten. His fine sense of humor and love of family and friends along with his love of sports was unequaled. He was one very fine man and I’m happy he called me his friend.

I want to express my deepest sympathy on the death of Dick. I knew him for over 40+ years ashe called on me as a young Buyer at Delco Remy(Delphi) in Anderson. We became friends over the years, and Dick was a true gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. He also knew my Brother Mike Maine(an attorney with Baker and Daniels) who lived in Indianapolis for years. Again, I am so saddened to have read this news. Sincerely, David Maine.
