FRANK RUPP Obituary

RUPP

FRANK S., 78, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Drexel Hill, passed away on September 21, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. Born in Philadelphia, he graduated from West Phila. High School and LaSalle College. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Frank served in Germany as a Highway Patrolman in the Military Police. Following his early retirement after 34 years with ARCO, he spent 10 happy and rewarding years working for Marple Newtown School District as "Mr. Frank," safely driving hundreds of kids in his school bus.
Music played an important role in Frank's life. Blessed with perfect pitch and a pleasant baritone voice, he spent many years singing in church choirs, the Delaware County Choral Society and the Swarthmore Chorale. He was especially honored numerous times when friends asked him to sing at their children's weddings.
A devoted family man, Frank was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan (as long as they won!). He will be sorely missed by his family and long-time friends. He always found a way to keep everyone laughing. Frank cherished and was especially thankful for the numerous friendships he made while living at Fox Hill Farm the past 13 years.
Frank and his wife, Jane, were married for 54 years. They have two daughters and one son-in-law: Jill and Scott Chiccino and Barbara Hernberg. Sister, Doris, passed away in 2000. Frank's brother, John and wife Joyce reside in Cherry Hill, NJ.
Services and Interment private. Contributions Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380 or Fox Hill Farm's designated local charity serving the working-poor: St. Agnes Day Room, 233 Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380.
