JAMES MARTOSELLA Obituary

MARTOSELLA JAMES 79, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and local business owner, died peacefully January 13, 2021, in the comfort of his own home. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Carol (nee Force), his children James Jr., Jen (George) Munro, Christen (Mark Tannen), and Jay (Giovanna), his grandchildren Sydney, Tres, Halle, Reece and Hunter, his brother Peter Martosella, Jr., and many other loved ones. Jim owned and operated The Hairdresser Inc. in the Paoli Shopping Center for over 40 years. He was known throughout the community for his warm heart, timeless style, and his coveted Martosella Restaurant Guide -- a review of Philadelphia restaurants curated by Jim and his brothers, Peter and the late Joseph Martosella. Jim always put his family first, and he will be deeply missed by us all. Due to COVID-19, funeral or memorial service planning will be delayed and communicated once arrangements have been finalized. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Feeding America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Jay will always be remembered! Still think we´ll see him in the parking lot at the shopping center, waving to us as he headed to the salon!

Dear Carol,
I'm sorry to learn of your husband's passing. The end of a life is never, ever easy, no matter how we may prepare ourselves to face it with grace and quality together time and all the other gifts a final chapter journey may afford us. I'm glad to read you were able to be together at home. Pancreatic cancer is a particularly unyielding beast, so I hope we all see strides in changing its trajectory and power with research advances we can help support. Prayers of comfort to you and your family. Peace and sympathy, Stephanie S.

I always looked forward to my appointments with Jay. We would talk movies, books, growing up Catholic. He always found the irony in current events and human nature and commented with snarky but gentle good humor. Such a lovely man.
