MARION MARGUERITE, 83, of Philadelphia, died Friday Dec. 14, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Germantown, PA, daughter of Adolphus Butler and Lillian Jackson. Marion graduated Girls High School, was the Philadelphia Chair for the Fair Play for Cuba Committee in the early 1960s, active in the fight to integrate Girard College for Boys, jointly organized 5 buses from Philadelphia to the March on Washington, was on the founding Board of the National Organization for Women [NOW] and co-produced a Sunday morning television show in Philadelphia called Input from 1967-69 with her late husband, John. Since the 1980s, she has been an investor and philanthropist. She is preceded in death by her husband John S., Jr. and her step-son Thomas. She is survived by her son Michael Metelits, daughter in-law Nicki Nathan; step-children John S., III, Ann Hochberg, Elizabeth (Lynne Brown) and Stephanie (Daniel Shea); grandchildren Caleb and Leah Metelits; step-grandchildren Kabira Hochberg, and Catie and DJ Shea; and the many whose lives she touched. Visitation will begin at 10 A.M. Friday Dec. 21, 2012 with the Funeral Service at 11 A.M. at BRINGHURST FUNERAL HOME, 225 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004. Interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
