I live with Dan on Camac Street in Philly in the early 1970s and it was through conversations with him that I first hear the irritating truth of the buddhadharma. I -- being irritated to hear that life is suffering, that buddhanature is already complete within me and everyone -- argued with him about it, taking a sceptial view. But I think that to some extent it was those arguements with Dan that opened me up to hearing the dharma in a big way a short while later in my life. I got to work out some of my scepticism with Dan and that was very helpful in terms of being open to the teaching. For that I am eternally grateful to Dan.
Good travels in the bardo Dan. You were a good man. I tried to visit you in Philly a few years ago but your were not home. I love you.
