I will post again here in 2023 how appreciative I am for John's meticulous research and for the University of Dayton to continue to make it available. We have a Mary Garden at our All Saints parish in Lakeville MN and every year have a Mary Garden Planting Day with the children which includes Consecration to her Immaculate Heart and the Rosary. How awesome that our Good God reveals Himself and His attributes, His beauty to us in this way through nature, particularly in plants and flowers in their order and structure and also their Latin names. John's material helped me in writing a First Communion Novena book for children, I Welcome Jesus. I will remember John at daily Masses during this November.

May God bless you, Mr. Stokes and may the Blessed Virgin accompany you in eternity! Thanks to you, I not only learned about Mary Gardens but was able to create one! This wonderful devotion and tradition is a lovely way to evangelize; especially to our children and grandchildren. Learning the meaning of all these flowers was an added pleasure. Thank you forever, Mr. Stokes! This was truly not only a work of God but, of course, an inspirtion from the Holy Spirit!
In Jesus through Mother Mary,

May God bless you, Mr. Stokes for re-igniting the torch of Christian flower symbolism in our times...we will pass it on as best we can to the next generation. I pray with you that the Catholic liturgy and devotional practices will again be enriched by the goodness, truth and beauty of God in His created world of nature. I share with you Welsh ancestry (I believe you must be Welsh!) the love of beautiful words...the poetry of the heart and soul, and pray that in our beloved country of Wales, Mary Gardens and Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration will grow together bringing grace and holiness to all...

Having a garden that is beautiful and full of grace as it reminds us to honour Mary (through Mary to Jesus) is a wonderful thing, indeed.
Thank you and Bless You. May light celestial shine upon you.

This site was an inspiration for me and in turn for others to create gardens to honor Our Lady. One can only imagine the garden that John now enjoys in heaven with our Mother Mary !
