I had the great pleasure of working with Vince for perhaps ten years at what was then the Naval Aviation Supply Office. Not only did Vince have an unsurpassed work ethic but his advice was constantly sought by people throughout the building on subjects varying from personal problems to building houses. Since I sat in back of him and talked to him I know how tremendously important his family was to him. He truly was among the most universally respected and beloved people I have ever known. He definitely made tremendous contributions to the lives of friends, fellow workers and family as a wonderful role model who gave sage advice. There were a number of moments involving Vince which I shall always cherish and which will put a smile on my face. I would love to share them with but will not further lengthen this tribute to a wonderful, warm man.

To the Brigandi family:

You are in my thoughts through this difficult time. As I reflect, or as I like to call it, "celebrate" Joseph's life (I liked to called him "Mr. B"), I saw a man that warmed my heart the way my own father did. Every time I saw him I got the big smile and the firm hand shake. I always felt at ease when I was around him, he always made me feel welcome, whether it was a party at the house or just helping with a project (his son Joe's shed comes to mind). Mr. B's presence always made you feel good, and that's what life is all about, putting others first. Taking care of the family and making others happy. That's how my father treated me and my family, until he had succumbed to cancer 10 years ago. From that day forward I have celebrated my fathers life with all the good memories growing up and how thankful I am to be who I am today, if not for him. This is also how I see how fortunate the Brigandi family is, and how fortunate they are to have had him in their life. Let's today, carry on his spirit, celebrate his life and keep smiling, as that's the way he would have wanted it anyway.

Love always,

Ron Hansen
