Juan Rodelas Obituary

"Johnny" Juan Roberto Rodelas, Jr. June 6, 1992 - May 9, 2009 Passed from our world and entered the light of Heaven Saturday, May 9th at the age of 16. Taken from us far too soon, he will be deeply missed in our hearts by all. Johnny made so many of us proud with his incredibly huge heart and constant thoughts of others, it continues even after his passing. Our dearest beloved son, the things we have heard, and still continue to hear about you fills our hearts and souls with your light. What people are doing in your memory shows you have touched the lives of many. He was an intelligent, charming and charismatic hard-working young man who touched far more lives than he could have realized. Always with a smile on his face, he warmed us with his humor and always brought out the happiness in life. His sense of humor made it impossible to have a bad day. Johnny was a Junior at James Logan High School and loved to spend his time with family and friends. He also enjoyed spending his time as a volunteer youth girl's soccer coach. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to any one in need and made the lives of everyone who knew him richer. Anyone who knew this amazing young, man will never forget the impact he had on their lives. Johnny will be remembered as that strikingly handsome young man that made you laugh til you couldn't breathe. He was seen all around Union City cruizin' in his red corvette. He is survived by his loving parents, Juan Roberto and Monica Rodelas, loving big sister, Analisa Rodelas, and little brother, Richie Rodelas, grandparents, Roberto and Estefana Rodelas, grandparents, George and Diama Escobedo, aunt Sonia and uncle Gary Sclafani and cousin, Lorenzo, aunt Crissy and uncle Scott Mello, aunt Leticia Escobedo and cousins Crystal, Cassandra, Candace, Angelo and Cabrina, uncle Marcus and cousins Markie, Angel and Diego Escobedo, uncle George and aunt Mari and cousins Anthony, Yessenia and Serenia Escobedo, uncle Joe and aunt Gloria and cousins, Gaby, Angelica, Benito, Alaina and Adriana Escobedo and James Logan High Junior Class "2010" and friends. It´s been almost 16 years and I still find myself constantly thinking about you. You visited me in my dream last night and it felt so real. It was so nice to finally hug you again and tell you how much I love and appreciate you. You were such a kind person and I don´t even think you realized how big of an impact you made on my life, tbh I don´t think I even realized until after we lost you and I was no longer able to see your smile and hear your laugh and truthfully I regret it every single day, I wish I had realized how special you were while I had the chance to tell you to your face. I miss you so much. I hope wherever you are, that you´re doing well and that you´ve been able to continue spreading your bright light on everyone you meet. I´m hopefully we´ll meet again one day Johnny, until then rest easy my friend. I love you.

THE DARLING & BENNETT FAMILY

May 13, 2009

To The Rodelas & Escobedo Families, I want to say THANK YOU for sharing Johnny with all of us. I remember the first time I met Johnny at Searles when he was in 2nd Grade, he made my Daughter Jenni's first day at a new school easy and fun. By the end of the first week of school they were best buds. He was always accepting of others. I will never forget going with your son in 5th grade with Mr Trier on the camping trip. He was SO SO earger to help me and my husband with the cooking for all the kids, and when he step on a snake the look on his face was priceless. I know that all of these memories will not bring him back but it will bring you comfort in knowing what a truley AMAZING son and gift you gave us all. The most beautiful thing in this world is the gift of life and when it is taken from us it leaves us heartbroken. Please know that you are never alone and though Johnny is not here in a human form he is he alive in spirit and memories which we all can treasure...........whenever we hear the songs What Hurts The Most by Rascal Flatts and Little Red Corvette by Princes it will forever remind my family and I of Johnny.

AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR SELFLESS AND AMAZING GIFT OF YOUR WONDERFUL SON TO US ALL, HE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED AND LOVED BY US ALL WITH MUCH LOVE AND PRAYERS, JENNIFER & KEVIN DARLING, JENNIFER & CHRIS BENNETT

Our hearts ache for you. You remain in our thoughts and prayers. God bless and guide you and the entire family through this difficult journey.

To Johnny,
There is no sadness there, only here for those left behind. No one ever expects to see a young person leave this earth. Not one of us has the knowledge of when our time will end. You have soared ahead. No worldly sufferings to endure. At some point, the family can find comfort in knowing that you have been embraced and surrounded by our Lord and Savior and all your loved ones who have prepared a celebration for your arrival. It is said that when you leave this earth, you take all that love with you. You know you were and always will be loved.

To The Rodelas Family,
Your son touched the hearts of many. His smile will always be remembered. We live two doors down from his Grandparents on Colgate. My daughter Krislyn was very close to Johnny and had lunch with him often at school. They have been school mates since elementary school. She will miss him so so much. My son Aaron who is 8, thought Johnny was the coolest kid around. He is always outside playing basketball and he would get so happy when Johnny drove by in his corvette and took the time to slow down and say, "Hi Aaron". Johnny was a wonderful young man. He will definitely be missed cruising down Colgate Drive.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Rodelas and Escobedo families at this difficult time.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

May his memories forever stay in your mind and close to your heart!!
